FAQ

Adjustable pedestal FAQ

Straight answers for architects, contractors and buyers specifying Vitaro pedestals.

What is an adjustable pedestal?

An adjustable pedestal (also called a deck pedestal, raised floor support or paver support) is a height-adjustable plastic support that lifts decking joists, tiles or paving slabs off the ground or rooftop. A rotary ring changes the height without tools so you can level a floor over slopes, drains and waterproofing layers while keeping services underneath accessible.

What height range do Vitaro pedestals cover?

Vitaro pedestals cover 20 mm to 392 mm. The B Series covers 20–260 mm, the F Series 20–185 mm, and the HE Series 25–392 mm, with optional 100 mm and 150 mm extenders for taller builds.

What is the maximum load capacity?

Maximum load is up to 3,500 kg per pedestal (B Series). The HE Series reaches up to 2,000 kg and the F Series up to 2,200 kg. Load capacity decreases as height increases.

Are Vitaro pedestals certified?

Yes. All three series (HE, B and F) are independently SGS-tested for load, weathering and material performance.

Can the pedestals be used on sloped roofs?

Yes. Vitaro pedestals are available with a self-leveling head that compensates up to 5° of slope, so a flat finished surface is achieved over pitched roofs and uneven decks.

What are Vitaro pedestals made of?

The HE Series uses polypropylene with 10% glass fibre. The B and F Series use UV-resistant polypropylene. All are stable from −40 °C to +120 °C.

How are adjustable pedestals installed?

Place pedestals on the substrate at the required grid, set the height with the rotary ring (or self-leveling head), then lay joists, tiles or slabs on top. No adhesives or penetrations are needed, which keeps the waterproof membrane intact.
